Fairfax
"I never intended to be a singer," Keisel humbly states. "However, I did grow up loving early Beatles and underground punk rock à la Hopeless Records bands... so singing evolved out of that I suppose. As for the guitar, that's easy; I wasn’t a very good Basketball player in High School, so I just sat around and rocked out with my friends." says Kiesel. While Kiesel's melodies and riffs hook the every listener, it's Fairfax's rock solid rhythm that really make the big difference and get them that beat they seek. Bassist Sam Painter rocks out on the bass in a way that is given only to very few bassists. His musical training and Rock n’ Roll presence creates the underlying groove and rythm for the special sound of Fairfax. Sam also provides Fairfax with its unique, trade-off vocal parts. He screams out lead parts such as "Light me up Baby" on Oxygen and on other sections of the new Fairfax LP Light These Dreams. Hooks and melodies alone aren't going to get your foot tapping and pulse jumping. The Fairfax Drummer Brandon Johnson brings the rock with hands and feet. Johnson throws his head in tune with the beat while jamming note-for-note alongside Painter. Here's what others say about Fairfax: Fairfax owns melodic indie rock Latching onto all the emotions we hold most dear, “Light These Dreams” almost feels like rape, it hits that close to home. But all negative connotations aside, Fairfax taps a toe along with tremendous beats that are friendly to emo kids and mainstreamers alike. Fairfax comes from Austin, TX delivering melody-driven rock that ignores the rules and boundaries of a particular "genre". Their new LP, Light These Dreams, is a production masterpiece that captures the emotion, energy, and straight-up rock that is so prevalent in their live shows.
